The self-proclaimed “laziest band in the world,” is actually working pretty hard these days. In fact with a new album on the way and a world trek planned for early next year, NOFX will be anything but lazy in the couple months…at least in terms of productivity.

According to a recent bulletin from fellow punk rockers the Descendents, drummer Bill Stevenson has been tapped to serve as producer on what will be the NOFX’s first album since 2006’s Wolves in Wolves’ Clothing. While details remain sketchy, recording is excepted to begin before Fat Mike and Co. embark on an extensive world tour at the end of January.

Included on the tree month trek will be stops across the west coast along with a number of performances across Europe, perhaps most highlighted the April 25th date in Dublin, Ireland. Nearly seven years after vowing never to “come back” following an altercation during NOFX’s appearance at the Gig on the Green, the band appears to have adhered to an online petition pleading for its return.
