Bruce offers details, art of Dream, searches for “super” fans

There’s nothing more exciting than the weeks leading up to the release of a new Springsteen album. After all, just look at all the new details we get to wade our way through ahead of the January 27th release of Bruce and company’s latest studio effort, Working on a Dream.

For one, we’re starting to get a better idea as to what to expectt from the 12-track followup to 2007’s Magic. According to Billboard, the album will offer a mix of short and long ballads: opener “Outlaw Pete” runs eight minutes, while “Tomorrow Never Knows” is just over two minutes. In addition to the standard releases, Working on a Dream will also be released on vinyl and as a deluxe edition, featuring a 38-minute behind-the-scenes documentary.

Sound good? You haven’t seen nothing yet.

I mean, literally, you hadn’t seen anything until Springsteen offered up the album artwork for his forthcoming effort. A bit reminiscent of the recently released Magic Tour Highlights EP, the cover for Working on a Dream features an animated twist:

So at this point, between the aforementioned details and the previously debuted title track and , we have a pretty of good expect from Bruce & the E Street Band when they unveil their new album next month. But what about their other upcoming, high-profile event?

Well, while we don’t know what the group will do when they take the stage for the halftime show of Super Bowl XLIII, we do know how you can watch the set, up close and personal. The producers of the performance are currently “looking for enthusiastic volunteers to be part of the on-field audience for the show.” Sound like you’re perfect? Just find nine friends and head over to superbowlcast.com to register.

Now all we need is tour dates, but I guess we’ll have to wait a little while longer for those…
