Ryan Adams & The Cardinals continue tour into 2009
When not recording acoustic versions of “Halloweenhead”, picking his top nine albums of 2008, or getting bashed by the Los Angeles Times, Ryan Adams has been spending much of his recent time on the road, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. In the midst of their current trek with Oasis, Adams & The Cardinals have added a number of dates to their upcoming itinerary.
Following a month-long break once the final dates with Oasis wrap up, Adams and Co. will return to the road beginning in late January for two weeks in Australia before returning back to the states for another round in February. Tickets for most shows will be available via ticketmaster.com.
In other news, Adams recently announced he has chosen to leave longtime label, Lost Highway Records, a surprising move considering the singer/songwriter’s history with the company. Since 2001, Lost Highway stuck with singer/songwriter through the good (nine albums including the recently released Cardinology) and the bad (emotional outbursts). Yet ultimately, Adams believed leaving the label was the best decision.
“Today my attorney sent me my termination agreement with Lost Highway, signed,” revealed Adams. “I’m not like, ‘Ding dong, the witch is dead,’ because I respect them and understand what we went through, how I wanted to do things a certain way, more unconventional than what they were attached to.”
