A.C. Newman takes to the road in ‘09

No, this time A.C. does not stand for Animal Collective, and in no way relates to their upcoming film or album, so no more news on that front. However, if you’re into a collective known as the New Pornographers, or any of the individual artists that make up the British Columbian supergroup, then you may be in luck. That’s right, as the title indicates, A.C. Newman of the Pornographers will take a break from both his main outfit and “standing in” for Okkervil River to embark on a 2009 tour of his own in support of his new solo effort Get Guilty (January 20th via Matador). Along for the journey will be two up and comers: Broken West and Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele.

You can pre-order Get Guilty via Matador and receive a $3 discount on the CD in addition to some bonus tracks. And if you want to go all out A.C. Newman fanatic go stop by Starbucks and pick up the covers compilation which features his A-Ha cover.

Newman will make his first stop in his home of Vancouver in February before hopping around much of North America.
