Watch: Britney’s “Circus”

She may not be the Madonna everyone pegged her out to be, but she’s pretty darn close. On her second comeback to date, Britney Spears is sticking to her guns and taking no prisoners (whatever the hell that means). For one, her new album, Circus, is ear candy to critics and fans, she’s going on a long awaited tour, and what’s more, she’s gracing this month’s cover of Rolling Stone magazine. If America doesn’t find her attractive, then America needs to look in the mirror.

If Spears’ naked curves in the steamy “Womanizer” brought new found fanaticism in teenage boys, then “Circus” is for the new class of girls. The titular track is catchy no doubt, but it’s the video that encapsulates. With a smoky backdrop and circus folk galore, it’s easy for Spears to shine here, and that she does. In a sultry get up (as usual), the singer dances and leads the pack in some better than usual dance routines. It’s not so tacky as it sounds, either. There’s this whole 1930’s Depression-era look to it all and that’s what makes it kind if intriguing. It’s as if her designers have been taking notes from John Steinbeck.

If anything, you’ll be visually pleased.
