Welcome back, Jamie Foxx!

Welcome back, Jamie Foxx!

Since receiving two BET awards in 2006 for his collaboration with Kanye West on his earworm “Gold Digger”, Jamie Foxx has seemed to lose interest in music. Instead, the successful actor and comedian has spent his time focusing on his own channel on SiriusXM called The Foxxhole and his acting career, having recently performed in high-profile movies such as Ray, Dreamgirls, and Miami Vice.

But as we learned today, Jamie Foxx will soon return to the music world. With his new album, Intuition, dropping December 16, Foxx is ready to get back into the game. In an interview with Billboard.com, Foxx revealed that Intuition is going to be something entirely different from 2005’s double-platinum release Unpredictable, having said, “Unpredictable was more, like, slow, bedroom things…With (Intuition), we’ve got all these legitimate club, international hits and the tempo is up. People…go absolutely nuts for it.”

The playlist on Foxx’s website confirms what he told Billboard. The opening track introduces a whole new man; on “Intro”, the opening track, Foxx raps, “What’s happening, it’s Jamie Fiddoxx! Whatchu doing for Christmas? Buying that Jamie Foxx CD…In stores De-cember 16.” Instead of crooning a ballad about how nice it would be open a gift from your girl, or man, and see Intuition inside, Foxx briefly raps on about some album release details before going straight into his recently-released single featuring TI, “Just Like Me”.

Foxx told Billboard he plans to begin touring in support of his new release after he finishes shooting “Law-Abiding Citizen”, a drama with Jerry Butler. Foxx’s next film, “The Soloist”, is due in theaters March 2009.
