PJ Harvey preps return with old friend

At 39-years-of-age, PJ Harvey has already accomplished quite a bit during her musical career (ie., the eight studio albums, greatest female artist, etc.) Come March 30th, the U.K. born singer/songwriter will look to add to her legacy with the release of her ninth full-length studio album. Entitled A Woman a Man Walked By, Harvey will use the followup to 2007’s White Chalk to offer the latest bit of material from her renewed work with British musician/producer John Parrish.

Recorded in Bristol and Dorset, the effort will mark Harvey’s first collaboration with Parish since 1996’s Dance Hall at Louse Point. While album art and tracklisting are still forthcoming, Harvey did reveal in a MySpace blog back in January that the album will also feature the likes of Eric Drew Feldman (Pixies, Polyphonic Spree), Autolux’s Carla Azar, and Italian rocker Giovanni Ferrario.

As for the question on everyone’s mind: will there be a tour? As of now, nothing has been announced, though based on previous history – following the release of Dance Hall at Louse Point, the duo did embark on a short tour – we’re willing to bet we’ll see some sort of tour in the coming months.
