Ben Kweller heads back on the road with The Watson Twins
It might have taken a little longer than expected, but on February 3rd, Ben Kweller will officially unveil his brand new studio album, Changing Horses, for all to hear. But because we’ve said basically all there is to say about the 10-track, alt-country effort since we got an early taste of it back at ACL ‘07, this time around, we’ll let BK do the talking:
“I’ve been working on Horses for years…I wrote the first song for it when I was 16. Over time, I’ve collected these songs that fit together and wanted to release them together. I didn’t want to try and fit them on my other albums one or two at a time…
Country music was the soundtrack to my life. It’s still a big part of who I am. When Garth Brooks or Alan Jackson come on the radio, somethin’ happens inside. Brings me back to the trees, back to pushin’ cars out of the mud. Reminds me of my hometown.
Sounds good to me.
In support of the release, Kweller has announced dates for another round of U.S. fun. Beginning just a week after the release of Changing Horses, Kweller will embark on a month-long trek with fellow indie favorites The Watson Twins. If the Texan’s recent tour proved anything, the upcoming dates should certainly be worthwhile.
