Faunts announce details of new album

Contrary to what the title of their debut album might have conveyed, High Expectations/Low Results, the Faunts are another reason to be jealous of our friends up north. Since forming in 2000, the Edmonton duo of Steve and Tim Batke have been gaining attention thanks to their debut, and last fall’s subsequent remix of it, and a touring resume that already boasts the support stints for Broken Social Scene, Stars, and Peter Bjorn & John.

On February 27th, the Faunts - now a three piece band after the inclusion of a third Batke brother, Rob - will look to take things one step further with the release of their long-awaited sophomore album on Friendly Fire Recordings. Entitled Feel.Love.Thinking.Of., the 10-track effort is described as the culmination of a year of touring, recording, and “meticulous exploration of this transcendent imagination.” What does that mean exactly? Well, I’d assume the album’s billed instrumentation, which included everything from “effervescent” guitars to mathematic loops and synthesizers has something to do with it. Of course, we’ll find out for sure come early next year.

In the meantime, here’s a couple tunes from the recently released Faunts Remixed to tickle your fancy until next February.
