The Murder City Devils reunite for west coast trek
Reunion sure is a popular word these days, and something The Murder City Devils have come to embrace recently. Following one-off performances at the Capital Hill Block Party in 2006 and the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin over the summer, the Seattle garage rock outfit will return in 2009 for a few more shows. Beginning in mid-February, the Devils will take to the west coast of the U.S. for a week-long trek that will take the group across Washington, Oregon, and California.
The dates will coincide with reissue of the band’s entire discography through Sub Pop Records. On February 17th, the Seattle based label will release all three of the Murder City Devil’s full-length efforts - 1997’s The Murder City Devils, 1998’s Empty Bottles, Broken Hearts and 2000’s In Name and Blood - and the Thelema EP on limited edition, high-quality color vinyls.
As of now, there are no plans for east coast dates or a new album. Of course, in a time when even Blink-182 are thinking of reuniting, anything is possible.
