Morrissey plans big bash for 2009
With all this talk of The Smiths - are they reuniting, are they not reuniting - it’s easy to forget that the former Smiths frontman, Morrissey, is finally releasing his tenth studio effort. But on February 17th, the British singer/songwriter will do just that with the release of the aptly titled Years of Refusal on alt-friendly Lost Highway.
Fortunately for Smiths fans looking to get their “kicks” out, the album’s release will feature an extensive tour throughout the US. Oddly enough, the tour ends in the Southwest and just two days before the Coachella Valley Music Festival kicks off. Considering there are no other Californian dates, it sure looks like Mr. Morrissey will be making appearance. Though one wonders what Mr. Marr is doing that weekend, too.
Tickets for most North American shows will go on sale beginning Friday, December 19th via ticketmaster.com. However, fans who pre-order Year of Refusal will get the opportunity to buy tickets through 24 hours before they go on sale to the general public.
