U2 to find Horizon in 2009
It may have taken a little longer than expected, but U2 is finally ready to unveil its long-awaited followup 2004’s How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. After “perfection” issues delayed original release plans by almost five months, Bono and his legendary Irish bandmates will use March 3rd to offer No Line on the Horizon, their twelfth full-length studio album, on Interscope Records.
While many specifics are still forthcoming, we do know the album was produced by the all-star cast of Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois, and Steve Lillywhite and will feature a tracklist that includes “Moment of Surrender”, a song previously leaked over the summer by a fan who ‘captured’ the audio ‘blaring’ from Bono’s house - is among the track expected to appear on the produced effort. Earlier this year, Eno described the eight-minute number as the best thing” he’s recorded with U2.
Originally scheduled for release in late 2008, No Line on the Horizon was ultimately delayed as a result of the band’s desire to achieve perfection. “We know we have to emerge soon but we also know that people don’t want another U2 album unless it is our best ever album. It has to be our most innovative, our most challenging … or what’s the point,” Bono wrote in a posting on the band’s official website in September.
Early indications put the move as paying off, at least if you believe Billboard: “One source who has heard several of the songs in their early forms described them to Billboard as ‘amazing and a little out there. I hope they don’t change anything.’”
Of course, we’ll all know for sure come March 3rd. In support of the release, U2 is expected to embark in a worldwide tour in early 2009 as well.

Yes, long awaited is right. Let’s hope that it does as well as the previous one with ratings (http://www.everhype.com/?utm_source=bc) but being that so many people have been waiting for this album, I have no doubt that it will do well.
