Sufjan’s Christmas surprise…
Ah, holiday traditions. For some it might involve going Christmas caroling, others it could just be as simple as curling up with a blanket and watching movies with friends and family. Regardless of your holiday traditions, the moral 
of this story is that Sufjan Stevens is keeping to his tradition. Every year since 2001, the Petoskey, Michigan native has released a Christmas EP among his friends and family. The first five editions, collectively Songs For Christmas, were released by Asthmatic Kitty Records in 2006.
This year’s edition, titled Astral Inter Planet Space Captain Christmas Infinity Voyage features modern takes on holiday classics such as, “Angles We Have Heard On High” and “Joy To The World”. It also contains new material like, “Christmas in the Room” and “The Child With the Star on his Head”.
