Minds explode! Kraftwerk to open for Radiohead!
I think the title says it all. In what will be the most talked about opening job of the year, the legendary German electronic group Kraftwerk will serve as support on Radiohead’s upcoming Spring tour in Mexico and South America. Given their past tours, Thom Yorke and friends already had a tradition of getting great opening acts, but this is just absurd.
For those unfamiliar (or living under a rock), Kraftwerk is a pretty big deal. Some might say the German based outfit started or conceived industrial music, but it’d be better to label Ralf Hütter, Fritz Hilpert,
Henning Schmitz, Florian Schneider, and Stefan Pfaffe a classic synthpop group. What’s more, considering the band evolved from the ’70s, it’s quite the honor for them to open for a band that started in the early ’90s. So, with that in mind, if you can make any of these dates (or snag tickets), then you’re in for one special evening.
Tickets for the two-week tour, scheduled to kick off in mid-March, are currently available for purchase via Ticketmaster.com.

i was there in mexico city and it was awesome! i’ll never forget that day.
dont hate me matt…cause im going both days in mexico city…front row…
Lucky me…
Saludos…
That’s all opinion though about being better than someone. Devin is right, to each his own. I’m just biased as an EDM junkie who does love radiohead, but will always give the respect to the “beatles” of my respected genre.
i despise anyone who gets to see this performance.
influential does not mean better. elvis influenced the beatles and is in no way, shape, or form better.
I think I just died a little. First date in Mexico is during spring break. I wish…
To each his own i guess… Any body else find it mad cool that Radiohead is the first band to release 2 album’s that are considered the finest of their respective decade. Only debatable one is 90’s vs Nevermind. In Utero was far better musically IMO. And if Nevermind’s impact would have produced better bands than I’d go with Nevermind, but Nirvana sadly brought about complete shit bands.
Sorry guys. I love radiohead with all my heart… but kraftwerk are more legendary and laid the foundation for Radiohead’s electronic elements. Kraftwerk is more influential Radiohead. Popular? No. But revolutionary? without a doubt.
No, Devin is certainly correct.
yes Devin.. just yes
hey! thanx for the post guys. Thought u were passing this info out. Im gonna be there both days! Its gonna be awesome. I have some extra tickets if anyone wants to come erniemm@hotmail.com

it should be radiohead opening up for kraftwerk.

I think that Radiohead might be one of the few bands that could follow Kraftwerk.
What a support band! They’ll be a hard act to follow.
