SXSW 2009: 175 and counting…
4:00 p.m. Update: I guess we spoke to soon. SXSW has officially announced 13 more acts, meaning we are now up to 188…
In a little less than four months, South by Southwest will descend on Austin, Texas for another eclectic showcase of music, movies, and anything else bound to interest one’s mind. If that’s not enough to excite you, surely this will: there are currently 175 bands and artists currently confirmed to descend on Austin between March 18 and 22, a number that is seemingly growing by the hour.
Among the highlights? The Black Lips, The Thermals, Andrew Bird, Little Boots, Youth Group, Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson, Enter Shikari, and Dirtblonde are just a few of our early favorites.
Then again, based on last year’s total, more than 1,800 acts will likely perform at SXSW ‘09 before its all said and done. In other words, we only know about 10% of next year’s bill thus far - a fact that is beyond mind-numbing. But don’t worry, CoS will continue to have your back. Just make sure you check out our SXSW outlook page daily for all the latest confirmations and rumors…

I hope you’re right.
It’s called dedication and a lot of hard work my friend…
