Sweet Water plans for a busy 2009
Almost ten years after the release of its most recent studio album, Seattle rockers Sweet Water are finally ready to unveil its long overdue followup. After reuniting in 2007 following a six year hiatus, the four-piece outfit of Adam Czeisler, Cole Peterson, Paul Uhlir, Rich Credo spent the latter part of this year recording a new batch of their psychedelic meets power pop material.
And as the group recently revealed to PlugInMusic.com, the finished product will soon be unleashed for all to hear. On January 20th, Sweet Water will officially unveil Clear the Tarmac, a ten-track album described by the band as perhaps its most complete release to date:
“We’re all playing stronger than ever,” says an excited Rich Credo, the band’s guitarist. “I am a better guitar player and Adam [Czeisler, the band's lead singer] is for sure a stronger singer. And, Cole’s writing more hits than ever.”
“This record is the best thing we have ever put out,” Peterson says without hesitation. “The rock is one-hundred percent bulletproof. Any track could be a single. I most often describe the music as what it would sound like if Paul McCartney met Jimmy Page at Ron Wood’s house with the Misfits playing in the background and then they all decided to write some songs.”
Of course, you’ll be able to judge for yourself come late January or at any of the planned upcoming tour dates. While specifics are still forthcoming, Sweet Water did note that an appearance at South by Southwest 2009 will be on the itinerary.

This is a band that should have been huge in the ’90’s, but for reasons unknown, never made it big. They are still HUGE in Seattle, with a loyal following. This album is much anticipated. Get some!

Wow, I saw these guys open for Alice in Chains at the Aragon on the Dirt tour. Thought they just disappeared like so many bands from that era.
