New Pet Shop Boys album? Yes

New Pet Shop Boys album? Yes

Between the upcoming efforts from Depeche Mode, The Prodigy, and the Pet Shop Boys, 2009 certainly is gearing up to be quite the year for electro lovers. Yes, you read that right, the legendary duo of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe will join their fellow electric outfits with a new release of their own in March of next year.

The name? Well, we already told you, but just in case our attempt at cleverness went right over your head - and it probably did - the title to the followup of 2006’s Fundamental will indeed be titled Yes.

While most details are still forthcoming, the band’s tenth full-length effort is set for a spring release (the provisional date is March 23) and will be headed by its first single “Love, Etc”. Xenomania, a U.K. pop production house, is believed to be behind a majority of Yes’ material.

A new album won’t be the only thing keeping the Pet Shop Boys busy in 2009 however; in addition to their appearance at Brits Awards in February where they will receive an award for their outstanding contribution to British music, Tennant and Lowe will use the tour bus to head to next year’s Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts in late June.
