Axl is hitting the road with Guns N’ Roses?

As Rolling Stone recently discovered, hidden deep in the depths of an interview between the St. Louis Dispatch and current Guns N’ Roses‘ guitarist Richard Fortus lies the following statement:

Regardless, [Fortus] said, late March should bring the GN’R tour, which likely will last at least two years.

Let’s take that in for a second. Fortus, who as we mentioned is in fact a current member of Axl’s crew, hints, almost proclaims, that Guns N’ Roses, yes the same Guns N’ Roses that recently unleashed Chinese Democracy after however long it was, could begin a two year tour beginning March of 2009.

Woah.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard rumors of a potential tour: in October, quoting an industry source, Rolling Stone reported a 2009 tour was in the works. Of course, nothing has been confirmed, let alone even been hinted at by the band’s fearless leader during any of his recent message board rants interviews, but it does indeed raise possibilities. There’s just something about the image of Axl taking the stage on Sunday night in Indio, California that makes me giddy and cringe.

However, I do think it’s safe to say any possibilities of a reunion tour consisting of Slash, Matt Sorum, and Co. is all but out of the question…
