The Rakes prep a Klang
Loneliness, marriage, and the light from your mac. These topics and more will be examined - from a musical perspective - when The Rakes unveil their latest studio effort on March 23rd. Entitled Klang, the English outfit’s third full-length release will feature 11 tracks recorded at Berlin’s Planet Roc Studios and produced by Chris Zane, whose resume includes work with Les Savy Fav, Passion Pit, and The Walkmen.
In an interview with NME last month, frontman Alan Donohoe described the album as reflective of where it was recorded: “The album is raw, playful, exciting, complex and schizophrenic - much like the personality of Berlin itself. It couldn’t be more of a fitting place to record it.”
The release of Klang will be headed by the album’s first single, “1989″, one week earlier. The song was recently debuted in video form:
