Guitar Hero: Metallica in ‘09
It has become official! Metallica is truly not only at the latest peak in its illustrious career, but Lars Ulrich and Co. will soon become legends in the eyes of gamers everywhere. Guitar Hero: Metallica is slated for release in 2009, and Activision has started sending out tidbits of information to the presses for all metalheads to gawk over.
With no set date except statements of early ‘09, there is definitely some waiting in the wings going on. Luckily, we have managed to dig up some confirmed tracks for the game which includes bands that have at some point or another influence Metallica:
Guitar Hero: Metallica Soundtrack:

While this is not the complete track listing for GH:M, rest assured that none will be disappointed with the wide array of thrash, stoner, and metal rock present in the predicted 45+ song playlist. Add to it all the increasing levels of difficulty within the game that - as anyone who has attempted to recreate “Dyer’s Eve” would know - should be obvious. Solos galore, and attacks on your opponent with names such as “Trapped Under Ice” (freezing of your opponent’s whammy bar) make this a must have already.
The general playability of said game will be laid out much like Guitar Hero: World Tour with tools including mic, drums and bass to join the guitar. According to Ulrich, the game also comes complete with an addition of his own design - an EXPERT PLUS difficulty setting that utilizes 2 bass drum petals.
I think Dee Snider of Twisted Sister says it best: “If it isn’t metal…it’s CRAP!”

Half of the listed Metallica tunes are all off one album. So what they mean to call it, is Guitar Hero: The Black Album.
I will play the hell out of this
