The Dead unveils 2009 tour dates
While most of us were ringing in the new year watching Dick Clark and sipping on some bubbly, The Dead chose to kick off 2009 with a bang by unveiling the first leg of its long-rumored 2009 reunion tour. Beginning in mid-April, the legendary outfit of Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann, along with guitarist Warren Haynes and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, will kick off what is currently a 20-date North American tour. Pre-sale tickets will be available beginning on January 13th. Other details are still forthcoming.
The Dead previously reunited twice in 2008 in support of President-elect Barack Obama. They previously hinted at the idea of a full-fledged return last month with the release of a video featuring the band rehearsing.
