UMF officially offers phase two of 2009 lineup
By now, courtesy of last week’s leak, the entire world, or at least, the casual reader of CoS knows that The Prodigy, Paul Van Dyk, Pendulum, Armin van Buuren, Moby are among the slew of high-profile electro acts making up the latest phase of the Ultra Music Festival’s 2009 lineup.
Today, the Miami based festival, scheduled to go down between March 27 and 28, 2009, officially confirmed what we already knew: The Prodigy, Paul Van Dyk, Pendulum, Armin van Buuren, Moby are among the slew of high-profile electro acts making up the latest phase of the Ultra Music Festival’s 2009 lineup.
Ok, our sarcasm aside, we did learn of a few aditional nuggets thanks to today’s announcement. For one, Moby will be playing an exlusive set, though then again, aren’t his DJ sets always exclusive? Then there’s the few names we couldn’t make out on the leaked poster: Kraak & Smaak, Andy C & MC GQ, Tiefschwarz (vs. M.A.N.D.Y.), and non other than the one and only Perry Farrell.
All in all, Ultra’s 2009 lineup looks something like this:
Above & Beyond, Andy C + MC GQ, Armin van Buuren, ATB, Baby Anne, Benny Benassi, Bloc Party, Booka Shade, Boyz Noize, Busy P, Carl Cox, Crystal Castles, Cut Copy, David Guetta, Deadmau5, Dirty South, Ed Rush & Optical, Eric Prydz, Erick Morillo, Evol Intent, Fedde Le Grand, Future Funk Squad, Goldie, Hercules and Love Affair, DJ Icey, Infected Mushroom, Johnny Dangerously, Kaskade, Kraak & Smaak, Late of the Pier, Loco Dice, Luciano, M.A.N.D.Y. vs. Tiefschwarz, Marcos Carnival, Markus Schulz, Matt & Kim, Moby, Paul van Dyk, Pendulum (Live), Perry Farrell, Planet of the Drums, The Presets, Pete Tong, The Prodigy, Rabbit in the Moon, Richie Hawtin, Roni Size Reprazent, Rordigo Viera, Santogold, Simian Mobile Disco, Soul of Man, Steve Lawler, DJ Storm, The Swedish House Mafia (feat. Steve Angello, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso), Tiƫsto, Tiga, The Ting Tings, The Whip
Two-day and VIP passes are currently available on Ultra’s website. The third and final phase of the lineup is expected to be announced - or leaked - in the coming weeks.

Ehh, I personally think MGMT would be a horrible choice, though I can agree that Hot Chip would be fun. My issue with MGMT at Ultra is that they are simply just a snore fest live, and don’t get me wrong, I like their tunes. MGMT would stick out like a sore thumb at this festival, sort of the way that Bloc Party does but at least they can be somewhat danceable.
I muuuuuuuust go this year! I went last year for the 10 year anniversary and it was the best experience of my life. Philly would NEVER have anything like this, so we havta travel down
idkno if im going yet….sad
Yes, MGMT would be awesome too! And why not HOTCHIP?!?!?!?
Santogold <333333
we need MGMT
Exclusive just means Moby will only be play Ultra, and no where else during the Winter Music Conference.
