Black Kids, Mates of State head out on Spring tour
Indie kids rejoice! Two of the genre’s favorite acts are teaming up for what will a North American tour of epic hipster proportions, or at least the closest example to whatever that would be. Yes, the un-politically correct Black Kids will be trekking across the US (and two stops in Canada) with the husband-and-wife duo of Mates of State, We’ll let that sink in for a second.
Now onto the specifics.
Following the Black Kid’s appearance at Miami’s Langerado Music Festival in March, the two outfits will team up beginning in early April for the month long tour. While the dates put an appearance at Coachella out of appearance, the tour will take Black Kids and Mates of State just about everywhere, including sunny California. Both acts will be touring behind their respective 2008 works: the Black Kids are currently supporting the highly entertaining Partie Traumatic, while Mates of State are still all about their piano-drive, pop-friendly Re-Arrange Us.
Tickets for most North American dates will go on sale beginning today, January 12th, via Ticketmaster.com.
