Late Night Lobotomy (Week of 1/19)
It’s Inauguration week! That means Hope (patent pending) is in the air and reruns are not! (Well, except for one lazy talk show host—I’m looking at you, Letterman.) And since soon-to-be President Obama says there is no red or blue America, no gay or straight America, etc., networks seem to be saying that there is no indie America and no top 40 America. There just is musical America.
You’ve got Of Montreal one night, Fall Out Boy twice, some country acts, even hip-hop, and plenty of pop. It’s a melting pot of melodies. So wave your miniature flags and stay up late. (And perhaps think about how much eyeliner and skinny jeans we’d manufacture in an indie America.)
