  1. anyone think it would have marketed better if MBV headlined sunday?

  2. sir paul is amazing… but i could do with out the killers and train wreck winehouse.

  3. MORRISSEY…The Cure…X…A Place to Bury Strangers…Band of Horses…Fleet Foxes…White Lies…Glasvegas…Public Enemy… Brian Jonestown…Friendly Fires…Drive By-Truckers…Silversun Pickups…AND A BEATLE!!!!! Tickets in Hand!!!!!

  4. What would Coachella tickets set someone back these days?

    mm

  5. Good line-up….but not good enough to fly cross country for. Maybe next year.

  6. cause Paul McCartney is equal to DCFC right?

  7. Man, I am kind of dumbfounded that people are excited about this and crapped on the Langerado lineup.

  8. what the fuck was the wait for???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  9. Holy shit balls this is amazing. I want to go!

  10. AMazing Line-up Coachella Valley here I come

  11. Ryan, Thanks for the heads up. So we missed one lol…

  12. Also I’m gonna go with the ROO line-up in 4 days.. Bet its more heady than this!!

  13. DJ AM is back..

  14. saturday is weak, but it does have its gems. mastodon, TVOTR, atmosphere, bob mould band, henry rollins, liars, ect. but friday and sunday. holy shit.

now i cant wait for the bonnaroo lineup to come out.

  15. Hey Alex,
Lucent Dossier is actually a circus that performs throughout the day in the dolab. They weren’t on the lineup last year from what I recall, but they were there every day. It is a great show to see and i’d recommend every coachella goer see it! If the DoLab is back (and why would it not be) Lucent will likely be there.

  16. Hi there, All in all this is a pretty great line-up. Have fun with 3 hours of the boringest “Cure” set ever. I am glad Coachella is getting Sasquatches left over headliners from last year. And what almost always rings true is that “Quatch” and Coachella never share the same headliners….. So thank the lord for that.

  17. I feel that while this is a perfectly good lineup, it’s kind of top heavy. I would have commited horrible acts to go to 2007 Coachella. I think they did a good job getting popular acts. Lots of big names. But I don’t feel bad at all that I can’t make this.

  18. Lucient Dossier confirmed on his myspace if I remember correctly. I fault him more than CoS, I woulda put him up there too.

  19. Hmmmm…Leonard Cohen and Public Enemy. Wouldn’t mind seeing Lenny and Chuck. Black Keys would be fun as well. My Bloody Valentine too. Other than that, not my cup of tea.

    mm

  20. More importantly…The Kinks?

  21. I am usually a Bonnaroo guy but this lineup is the best festival lineup I have ever seen.

  22. LCD Soundsystem?
    Faithless?
    Armin Van Buuren?
    Kasabian?

  23. The Chemical Brothers?
    Basement Jaxx?
    Moby?

  24. it’s cool you can admit to being a closet britney fan.

  25. that Friday lineup is beyond amazing.

  26. Agreed. The closest we come to Amy Winehouse is a moment of silence before the Killers. Hopefully they replace her with Lily Allen or Katy Perry, or any other chick singer for that matter. Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I would even take Britney.

  27. Ryan: We “missed” on Flying Lotus and Lucent Dossier, though I wouldn’t be shocked if either or both were to be added in the coming weeks.

  28. Great job, COS.
And no way Amy Winehouse shows.

  29. Don’t strain yourself patting yourself on the back given that most of your content is pilfered from other sites and festival boards.

  30. sigh…. so cool and so far away, i hope i get to see half these bands on the east coast, be safe all

  31. Well, I wont be heading over to Coachella. Not because I hate the line up, just because it will cost a little more than I can afford. However, for those that do go…Pray that Ghostland Observatory goes on at night and hope to God that if they do, your head doesnt explode. One of the best shows I saw at Bonnaroo 08!

  32. Addendum:

Just pulled up my old set times, and here is the number of bands breakdown (trust me, I didn’t count Sean Penn):

    2008: Fri-41 Sat-45 Sun-42
    2009: Fri-43 Sat-40 Sun-38

    What happened to Neil Young?

  33. I can’t believe that Friday lineup. I’ve only been going the past five years, but it looks to me like the most stacked day in Coachella history. The conflicts are going to be ridiculous. There’s also plenty of room for adds. Friday has five more bands than Sunday and three more bands than Saturday, and from what I remember, Friday always starts later and has fewer bands.

  34. THE CURE & MY BLOODY VALENTINE….I JUST WET MYSELF!!!

  35. wow not that impressed theres only about 10 bands i would care to see with cage the elephant, the kills, travisdj-am, peanut butter wolf, mstrkrft and amy winehouse really being my biggest eye grabbers. glad i wasn’t one of the ones pulling my hair out to see the lineup. have fun in indio boys and girls.

  36. great lineup wish i was going

  37. Which two “confirmed” bands did you mess up on? Just curious.

  38. McCartney? Cohen? MBV? The Cure? My music loving heart is bleeding from happiness. Oh boy. Indio here I come!

  39. OMG…THIS IS THE WORST LINEUP EVER…!!! I KNOW MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE ALL OUT…I THINK I MAY BE TOO!!! I MEAN EVEN IF THE ADD AN AMAZING LAST MINUTE ADDITION IT WONT BE WORTH IT CAUSE I’LL BE FORKING ALL THAT $$$ JUST TO SEE THAT HEADLINER. THERE’S ABSOLUTELY NOTHING…

  40. Throbbing Gristle is going to fuck some people up.

  41. Scratch that. 32/34

  42. And for those counting, Consequence of Sound went 31/34 on its confirmations. Oh, and I think Paul McCartney is on the lineup too, no?

    Back to bed… ;)

  43. what the fuuckk!!!

    fuckk c]fuuckkkkk

    no fligh of the conchords
    no bowiiee
    no no noo
    sorprisee mmeee

  44. Thank the lords, turns out monklish has some credibility, what a day friday issssss

  45. WOO WOOOOOO
