Breaking News: Langerado Music Festival cancelled!
This year’s edition of the Langerado Music Festival, scheduled to take place between March 6 and 8, 2009 in Miami, Florida, has been cancelled. Promoters cite “a dismal economy” and “sluggish ticket sales” as factors for the decision. Per promoter Ethan Schwartz:
“Langerado has always put the fan experience first. Unfortunately, during these difficult economic times, and facing a first year in a new venue, it’s become apparent that we cannot execute a production that lives up to the high standards of our past events. Putting Langerado on hold was the toughest decision we have ever had to make. We are very grateful for the support of the greater-Miami community and the music community during this difficult time.”
All tickets will be refunded with 5-7 business days. For information on ticket refunds please contact Music Today
Langerado marks the second major Florida based music festival to be cancelled. The Bang Music Festival scrapped its 2007 plans and has yet to return. No word on whether the same will hold true for Langerado.

oh well….we have more important things to worry about right now…
…LIKE WHERE THE FUCK IS CARL!?!?!?
Yea seriously, if you already have the days off, plane ticket, and hotel, why the hell just not take a vacation to freaking miami? I’m daring UMF to try and cancel cause if it does, I’m just going to spend 4 or 5 days chilling on the beach.
This sucks.
I won the two 3-day passes and now Langerado is canceled! What an extreme up and down couple of days.
At least I hadn’t bought my plane ticket or hotel yet!
yeah or not…
Someone should try to sue the langerado for the costs of plane tickets and hotel rooms and such.
i am out the cost of the plane ticket but I will just visit the folks in Orlando for a few days
Have plane tickets booked all the way from newfoundland canada… and car rentals, a cruise, and other arrangements all around this festival… thanks langerado.. lets hope some smart business man snatches up some of the bands and puts off a show anyways!
great, they’re refunding tickets. they refunding hotel reservations and plane tickets too? fuck.
Wait until the lineup for Rothbury is announced. It will trounce roo on the jam/electronica. What bonnaroo used to be…..
Yeah…I’m positive. We went and hung out in St. Augustine for the day instead. Everyone else had a good time thanks to party favors except me who was pregnant. LOL Then we went and saw “Forrest Gump” at the movies. Yay!
Now I can sulk in my office…I’m such a sellout..workin for “Dah Man” ha haa.
Hecate - I had no idea they went ahead and played…although now I’m getting angry…Damn it…FUCK…are you sure? I was like 16 or 17 at the time, so once I heard the show was cancelled I just sulked in my room.
Please, Please Please let DeVotchKa and Tricky do shows in Orlando!!
El Luchador - I was there for that! I remember being SO angry about it. (It helps that I was 8 months pregnant at the time!) Did you know that bands went ahead and played later on that day? I heard about it later and was really angry!
Feel bad for the guy who won the tickets through the raffle. Does he or she get a refund for his raffle tickets?
FUck that sucks… we finally get Death cab and Ra Ra Riot down here and now they cancel it.
The irony is that you’re still running ads for Langerado to the right of this story ;)>>>
Thanks, carl. We’re on it!
I wasnt planning on going to this festival, I’m Roo bound, but I feel bad for those who got tickets and where excited about going.
Reminds me of when I had Lolla tickets way back in 94 I think, when Nirvana was headlining at the fairgrounds just outside of Orlando and it rained the stage sunk and they cancelled that show. So pissed off, needless to say, never got to see them play.
Sorry about that guys who had tickets…check out Harvest of Hope, that looks pretty bad ass.
I wasn’t planning on going, but that really sucks to cancel a festival AFTER the lineup was announced. I would be furious if I had already booked plane tickets and hotel and would now be out the cancellation fees for both. Not to mention Ticketmaster fees. I good friend of mine had tickets to a show that was cancelled and TM would only refund the price of the ticket - not the fees.
Regardless, RIP to Langerado. Can’t imagine that you’re ever going to suck people in again after this fiasco. I certainly would never consider buying a ticket after something like this.
yeah i might check out harvest

This is crazy. Too bad.
Hey, concertgoer, check out the Harvest of Hope fest or at least try to catch some shows in Orlando. there are going to be good ones that weekend.
caochella should snag p-funk, snoop or modest mouse
Better Math
2xPhish + Beasties + NIN + Snoop + Wilco + David Byrne + the 40 other bands of note = Bonnaroo Lineup wins out if you are only attending one festival this year.
09′ Roo Lineup > ‘09 Langerado Lineup
yeah that sucks oh well I already have my plane ticket so I guess I will just chill at the parents house for a long weekend in orlando
Slow ticket sales. Sucks, that was an awesome lineup. Would have been a good time.
Simple Math:
REM+Phil Lesh+Beastie Boys+311+Camping and Late Nights Shows
DO NOT EQUAL
DCFC+Snoop+Modest Mouse+Downtown Miami Hotels/Airfare Prices
Regardless of how good the rest of the lineup is this is true to more people than the other way around..
How come?
Source?
ah, tis a shame, but it’s understandable.
Oh well, harvest of Hope and Ultra here I come.
