Ryan Adams sends out a Valentine…EP
You might be waiting around to be pricked by cupid, but loony bin Ryan Adams is on the prowl already. Come February 10th, four days shy of the big V-Day, he’ll be releasing some hand picked “love” songs and selling ‘em as a special holiday EP. So, if you’re lacking the cheap, flimsy Peanuts valentine card or if no one left you a sucker at your desk or if those candy hearts just don’t cut it anymore…you’re in luck.
While most of the tracks are previously released hits (”Two”, “Blossom”, “Answering Bell”, “Evergreen”, “My Love For You is Real”, “Desire”), Adams is tacking on an unreleased gem. Well, we don’t know if it’s a gem yet, but considering the self professed guru is making this a special occasion, one can only hope, right? It’s called “Hey There, Mrs. Lovely”, and god knows how long he’s had this one in the vault. With the way he works, it was probably written a few days ago. Or, it’s being written as I type this.
Whatever the case, you lonely, lonely saps have that to look forward to now, and only at the low, low price of $3.99. Of course, beware everyone. Adams is, after all, a Heartbreaker! Oh, I couldn’t resist. Hey, hey, hey! Easy Tiger! Ha ha ha, my side hurts.

“Hey There, Mrs. Lovely” is the original version of “These Girls” from Easy Tiger with only one girl instead of many in mind. The lyrics differ slightly and that is about it. A true classic from his vault!
I think “Hey There, Mrs. Lovely” is on the unreleased DESTROYER. Or was it 48 HOURS?

“Hey There, Mrs. Lovely” goes back to at least 1999. There is a fantastic version of it on his Exit/Inn bootleg from October, 1999.
