I’m starting to get a bit nervous, like checking my calender every minute nervous. After all, it’s 2009 and both Blink-182 and Limp Bizkit have appeared in the headlines over the last week, and it wasn’t because of some rehab stint or an overweight Fred Durst sighting.
Yes, just days after Blink announced its reunion plans, the lovely five-piece Jacksonville, Florida based outfit that had us doing it all for the nookie back in 1999 is following suit. According to a posting appearing on the band’s website, the original lineup of Limp Bizkit (Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto, and DJ Lethal) will end their eight year hiatus – jeez, I’m getting old. It’s been eight years already!? – to “ring their world back to ours.” Per Mr. Durst and Mr. Borland:
“We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other. Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else. This is why Limp Bizkit is back.”
How thoughtful…
The reunion will kick off this spring with a European headlining tour, which will include dates in Russia and Ukraine, along with appearances at Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park. A U.S. tour is also planned (all dates are still forthcoming), as is a new album.
Needless to say, it’s time to bust out that red Yankees cap…
TAGGED AS: Limp Bizkit
I love numetal. and i LOVE limp bizkit, my fave band with slipknot and korn for the last 10 years, i will be limpin with the bizkit along with a good group of 50 people at download & amongst everyone else that is seeing them! this along with creed and blink getting back together has def made this year awesome for me. x
limp bizkit is my favorite music group of all time and it is awsome that they will be making some more music.there music never gets old. I AM DEFENITELY LIMPIN WITH THE BIZKIT.
I think of Fred Durst similarly to how I think of Lars Ulrich.
Lars is a talented drummer, but personally I can’t stand him beyond the realm of Metallica’s music.
Durst was once the best kind of hype man and while he had little talent to speak of musically, he pushed LB to the brink commercially. Do I think he helped make Limp Bizkit? Aside from Borland and Lethal, yes.
Is he an utterly irritating asshole with a bittersweet existence? Definitely.
My friend sent me this awhile back. It’s a link to Fred Durst’s Xanga page, which is both hilarious and painful to read. If you’re ever having a bad day, you can always read this and be thankful that you are not Fred Durst.
I used to like this band, but they ought to face facts – they’re not relevant, haven’t been in years.
Their last EP The Unquestionable Truth, Part 1 did not sell squat because Limp Bizkit expected said unadvertised album to be noticed/hyped/bought by true fans. Obviously, the dismal numbers should have told them something.
I appreciate what they brought to late 90s rock and my teenage years (yes, I said it), but there is no way in hell this reunion could possibly succeed.
I will not lie though, I’m as curious about the new album as most probably are – regardless of how bad Results May Vary might have been or how commercial that damn red cap was back then.
thank the lord! i’d been waiting for so long!
but in all seriousness, I bet it’ll be as good or better than the Pumpkins.
This is the worst news I’ve heard in a very, very, long time. Hopefully it will be no more successful than their last EP. God willing.
hahah I agree with Terry, I too found myself stunned to how I knew the lyrics to this nearly decade old song. However you can find me picking up the new Blink album over this dogshit hah.
limp bizkit and blink will both have a short lives comeback and will fade away again, one obviously faster than the other. I doubt even kroq will play new bizkit material
geez, how do i still know all the words to Nookie? Not that I’m much into that style of music anymore, I’d probably at least check their new tunes.
Agreed with Luke
gtfo
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
no offense but this is old news.
Rock am Ring has had limp bizkit as a performer for 2 weeks
along with korn, marylin manson….etc
update those euro fests, man
hahaha! i am actually looking forward to this reunion. fred may be an idiot but they have some fun tunes and are a great live band.
