Bonnaroo offers taste of schedule…

While Bonnaroo isn’t ready to unveil the full schedule for its 2009 incarnation just yet - after all, we still do have a few more adds to go! - the Manchester, Tennessee based music festival, scheduled to run from June 11-14, has unveiled a little peak.

Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band will hold down the Saturday headlining slot of the festival, while Phish will play both Friday and Sunday. As expected, of these two performances, the Friday set will be in the form of a latenight slow, while Sunday will see the legendary rockers capping off the festival at a more traditional early evening time.

As for everyone else currently on board to hit up this year’s Bonnaroo. Well, nothing is officially confirmed, but if you trust both logic and the fine folks at Inforoo, which we of course do, then the schedule may look something like this. A word of caution however, none of this is officially confirmed.

Thursday: Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Zac Brown Band, Brett Dennen, People Under The Stairs, Chairlift, Lovell Sisters, A.A. Bondy

Friday: Beastie Boys, Phish (late night), Al Green, Erykah Badu, Paul Oakenfold, TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Girl Talk, Bela Fleck & Toumani Diabate, Galactic, Lucinda Williams, Animal Collective, Santigold, Femi Kuti (late night), Grizzly Bear, King Sunny Ade, St. Vincent, Crystal Castles, Tift Merritt, Toubab Krewe, Vieux Farka Toure, Elvis Perkins In Dearland

Saturday: Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Nine Inch Nails, Wilco, Elvis Costello, Ben Harper, The Mars Volta, Govt. Mule, MGMT, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Of Montreal, Allen Toussaint, Booker T & The Drive-By Truckers, Jenny Lewis, Robert Earl Keen, Robyn Hitchcock & Venus 3, Alejandro Escovedo, Cherryholmes, Yeasayer, The SteelDrivers

Sunday: Phish, Band Of Horses, Merle Haggard, Coheed & Cambria, Neko Case, Citizen Cope, The Ting Tings, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Mike Farris & Roseland Rhythm Revue, Todd Snider

???: David Byrne, Snoop Dogg, Andrew Bird, moe., The Decemberists, Bon Iver, The Del McCoury Band, David Grisman Quintet, Gomez, Down, Kaki King, Okkervil River, Raphael Saadiq, Portugal The Man, Midnite, The Knux, The Low Anthem, Delta Spirit, Alberta Cross

Jeez, this thing is stacked…

Why does June have to be so far away?

  1. peter scott burrage can eat a dick. Beastie Boys are definitely headline worthy…go watch their live dvd “awesome, i fuckin shot that” and just try to tell me they can’t headline bonnaroo. can’t fuckin wait!

  2. I’m sorry but the Beasties are 10x more appropriate for Roo than Metallica was. I enjoyed the Metallica set…but they didn’t really fit in. I love NIN, but the only reason people aren’t raising a stink about them is because Phish is playing two shows. It’s hard to accuse Roo of getting away form the jam roots when Phish is scheduled twice.

  3. ^^ try again, tiesto played friday.

  4. talking heads cover would be sick…..the only thing im thinkin about the supposed schedule up there is that normally the big Electronic artist performs on saturday. i know the past three years they had it that way and at the same tent each year. if oakenfold IS playin on friday is their talk of another badass DJ being added to the list or what? i honestly wouldnt mind some bassnectar

  5. yeah they’ve done all of remain in light at a couple shows

  6. I could def. see Byrnes at least doing vocals for phish doin a talking heads cover. they’ve done t. heads covers in the past.

  7. no i was to busy drinking the time away waiting for mstrkrft.
i was a roadie for metallica on the speed of sound tour, bunch of assholes.

  8. I don’t care what anyone thinks of bonnaroo and phish this year they suck

…..metallica ruled. I was yelling at everyone to shove some metal up their @ss. Maybe you were too busy picking flowers or hugging trees to realize their awesome setlist.

  9. i don’t care what anyone thought of metallica last year they suck.

  10. I like the way Archie thinks. See yall at the farm.

  11. phish loves the album remain in light, superjam phish + byrne??

  12. catch the dead at rothbury… saw beasties last year at langerado.. they were dope.. just waitin on this rothbury lineup cuz last year was to sick… rothbury for life

  13. well obviuosly the dead would not fit with phish playing sunday,
it was just a ‘wish list’.

    chill out!

  14. I really have no idea if beastie boys are considered a headliner, but i do think that they will be playing on the main stage, and at the headlining time slot on friday… i just dont know if they will be shutting down all the stages during the beasties.

I cant believe people are still expecting the dead to play. Besides the fact there have been no hint or sign of the dead showing up, how the hell are the dead supposed to fit in to this schedule as it is? When would they play? if anything, maybe Phil or Bob will show up and play a superjam or something.

  15. I am just awaiting THE David Byrne stuff…. enough said!

  16. I think all of you are stupid, Metallica, totally appropriate (not jammy, but you gotta keep the angry people happy), the Beastie Boys, are you fucking kidding me? Totally headline worth. And the Dead headlining Sunday? Last I checked they weren’t fucking playing. Just appreciate Bonnaroo for what it is, kick fucking ass.

  17. everyone hates on the beastie boys it seems. they are totally headlining material at bonnaroo and far more appropriate than metallica

  18. so the bestie boys are a haedliner?

WTF? i really hope not, no offence but there not bonnaroo headlining material…

how about phish (headline)friday, bruce (headliner) phish (latenight) the dead sunday:)

  19. hopefully NIN does a late night, that would be ridiculous

  20. Saturday… NIN, Mars Volta, Gov’t Mule, Rodrigo Y Gabriela! Damn it

  21. Saturday will be conflict hell.

  22. Phish is going to kill. This will be beautiful.

  23. I was talking about seeing the Beasties. I’m a huge fan of the BB.

  24. Beasty boys will most likely have the normal headlining time on friday night and then phish will play after. And Mr. Roffman, you dont know what your talking about, the beastie boys sets are great, and if you dont like their popular songs, they will jam out on instrumentals for a lot of the show which is impossible not to enjoy.

  25. I hope Phish is playing when the Beastie Boys are playing, so I have a chance to enjoy myself. Haha.
