Def Leppard, Cheap Trick, Poison to relive the 80s in 2009
In what has become a customary in recent years, Def Leppard will again spend the summer bringing the sounds that earned them the selection of VH1’s 31st “Greatest Artist of Hard Rock.” Beginning late June, Joe Elliot and the rest of the English rock outfit will embark on a 40-date North American tour, their third extensive summer endeavor in four years.
Joining them on the entire tour, which officially kicks off on June 23rd in Camden, New Jersey and runs for the better part of two months before ending in early September in San Bernadino, California, will be fellow classic rockers Cheap Trick and Poison. Speaking of the bill in a recent interview with Billboard.com, Elliot noted that touring with karaoke favorites has its advantages:
“We’re going out with three bands, which limits’ the amount of time we can play to about 90 minutes. When you do your greatest hits and some new material or extra stuff you might throw in, you have got to push and shove and clamp down. No big long speeches from moi. You have to do the AC/DC thing and just bang through everything.”
Def Leppard will be touring in support of its tenth studio album, Songs from the Sparkle Lounge, whih was released in April of 2008, as well as upcoming reissues of two classic albums, 1983’s Pyromania and 1992’s Adrenalize. Exact release dates are still forthcoming.
Tickets to all dates will go on sale beginning March 6th.

I went to the DefLeppard/Poison concert, in Toronto on July 4th, I HAD NOTHIN’ BUT A GOOD TIME. I would LOVE to see Bret again, I almost had the chance to meet Bret if i hadn’t gone to the bathroom rite away, and I hope that Bret comes back again to Toronto, and Big John is such a cool guy, I hope my friends and i meet him again, and maybe this time we’ll be able to meet Bret. I’m sorry Big John that i had missed u when u were looking for us!

I didn’t realize there was a discernable difference between Def Leppard and Poison…
Well it looks as if hell has frozen over or is Joe Elliot eating his words. After years of knocking Poison in the press he is touring with them. Its good for Joe to finally to come down to earth. For years he has been the pretentious rock star that thought he was better that everyone from his era…Now granted Def Leppard kick major arse live, but so does Poison. Its time he finally gave them there due…This will be great show for everyone..
