U2 books residency, celebrates with new song

Just when you thought late night television couldn’t get any better (see: Joaquin Phoenix on Letterman, The White Stripes on Conan), comes word that none other than Bono himself will soon be taking to the airwaves for a five night extravaganza. On March 2nd, one day before U2 releases its latest studio creation, No Line on the Horizon, the band will take to Letterman for what will be a five-night residency stint. As Rolling Stone points out, the performances will mark the first time an artist has ever played Dave’s show for five consecutive nights – The White Stripes accomplished the feat on Conan back in 2003.

To celebrate – ok, not really, but just go with it – U2 recently debuted No Line on the Horizon‘s title track on Irish radio station RT&E 2XM. This particular number is a bit more laid back than the album’s first single, “Get on Your Boots”, with more emphasis going toward the vocal’s of Bono. Check it out for yourself below…
