Watch: Bishop Allen - “Dimmer”

Bishop Allen describe its new video for “Dimmer” as the result of “homemade props, a jell-o mold, rear projection and some truly fancy scissor-work.” “We were hoping to make something that felt like videos from when we were kids, and we discovered MTV, and it blew our minds. This, of course, when MTV was a much different animal,” the New York indie rockers go on to note in introducing the Randy Bell directed video, a hope which certainly seems to have be accomplished. If anything, like most of Bishop Allen’s work, “Dimmer” and its accompanying video brings an overwhelming sense of child-like passion and fun, the type that can brighten even the worst of days. Plus, you got to give them props for creativity - it isn’t everyday you see a band end its video by actually cutting its members out (see: 2:34)!
