Uh-oh Coldplay don’t like breaks, add more US dates

Last we heard from Coldplay, they were sweeping the Grammys, still wearing those crazy uniforms(?), and unleashing a set of of dates that would last from early February until late September. At first, there was a break in those dates between March and July, giving the lads four months to sit back, watch their record sales fluctuate, and stare intently at their golden Grammys. As of this morning, however, Coldplay’s short holiday has been abridged to a mere two months.

Following a trip to Australia, the boys will get back on the saddle and take their show all across the US for a summer tour. Talk about a tour. Still no word on those All Points West or Lollapalooza rumors, but there’ll be chances to see them pretty much everywhere if they aren’t gonna be headlining those festivals. At least the guys are working hard. Viva La Vida or Let’s Tour the Shit Out of this Summer!

  1. I hope this means that they’re not retiring.

  2. i was calling yep a douche for saying the venue names were wrong, i said nothing about Young. it’s just confusing when a commenter uses the name yep.

and i did check both sites, i guess i missed the one date you’re referring to. that doesn’t change the fact that yep was saying that all the venues were wrong.

  3. Yep, or Nick, do you live in Edmonton? B/c that is the only venue with the wrong name, it should be Rexall Place.

Get over yourself dude. And you might want to check the information on Livenation and Coldplay’s sites before you start talking shit…

Young’ not a douche, all he did was post information that people utilize on this site.

Stop the hating, or just start your own damn site… I’m sure it will go great with your proclivity for detail…

  4. Probably a lock for All Points West

  5. yep, if you’re referring to the new tour dates (in bold) then you are WRONG. unless the band’s official website and livenation.com are both wrong, which i seriously doubt.

good job at proving everyone on here you’re a douche though.

  6. You guys know that bands who play Alpine during the summer don’t play Lollapalooza, right? Especially when they have gigs in NC and FL on the first and last day of the fest.

  7. Does anyone know who is opening for the Canadian dates?

  8. yep, they’re from Coldplay’s official website. yep.

  9. half those venue names are WRONG

  10. wonder if they will play a different set list….

almost every show on the first part of the NA leg was exactly the same set….

  11. i’m just pumped to finally get a show in Cincinnati.

  12. Maybe but can do without. Almost like a step up from jack johnson

  13. yeah jim i was thinking the same thing as you. i would be fine with them headlining.

  14. I’m surprised there’s no Chicago date, but it seems unlikely that they will be playing Lollapalooza because they would have to travel from North Carolina to Chicago to Florida in three days.

  15. Not really too important, but the Edmonton show on 06/18 is at Rexall Place, not Northlands.

  16. well, no NYC area dates announced and there is a weekend gap between toronto (7/29) and boston (8/3). What do you guys think? All Points Headliner maybe?

  17. [...] two weeks, Coldplay will return to the U.S. for the latest leg of its seemingly never-ending world tour. To celebrate/thanks fans for spending ridiculous amounts of money on tixs, Chris Martin and Co. [...]
