The CoS Guide to SXSW 2009

This week, Consequence of Sound will pack up the laptops, stock up on caffeine, and head down to Austin for South by Southwest 2009. What’s this men for our loyal readers? Well, if you’re heading down to Austin, we’ll be throwing three events, two unofficial day parties and an official SXSW showcase. If you aren’t, don’t worry, we’ll be covering the entire shindig live and on site, complete with photos and Tweeting during the week and a full recap once the festivities are over.

Ahead of our travels, we though it’d be appropriate to offer a guide of sorts, featuring all the necessary details for our events, picks for some others, and links to some helpful resources to prepare you for the week.

Full Metal Texas
What: Yes ladies and gentlemen, we’re bringing a little metal to good ol’ Austin! CoS has teamed up with Yeah Management, Branch Marketing Collective, Tee Pee Records, and Big Machine Media, along with sponsors No Fear Energy Drink, Maximum 10, and Lionsgate Films for the first annual Full Metal Texas.

What: On Friday, March 20th, Consequence of Sound will take over The Wave in Austin for our first official South by Southwest Showcase with a lineup designed to highlight six of music’s most talented up-and-comers in one night, under one roof.
