All Points West ‘09: Major announcement on Monday…
What better way to jump start your weekend then with a whole lot of anticipation over this year’s All Points West Music Festival. According to APW’s Twitter, the Jersey City based festival will be making a “major announcement” on Monday. What could this be about?
Perhaps dates? Though thanks to the April 4th edition of Rolling Stone, we know APW 2009 will take place from July 31-August 2. Maybe a lineup? Current rumors have Tool, Björk, Coldplay, and Tom Waits as possible acts sent to descend on Liberty State Park. What about a change in the beer policy?
We’ll find out Monday. Of course, be sure to check back to CoS and our APW Outlook page for all the latest news and rumors…

Oh, and teamcoachella, how reliable is your source that this summer Radiohead would only be in Europe? APW or not, I was really hoping they’d be somewhere near NYC this summer.
Probably bullshit but take from it what you will (comment on BrooklynVegan). Aside from Bjork, the rest seem believable.
Haha dumb assholes had it on Ticketmaster early this morning. Bands I remember: Tool, Bjork, Beastie Boys, Black Keys, Wilco, and the National. There might have been one or two more on there.

I heard it was only going to be Euro shows and no US
I think you’re right, teamcoachella. Though, if Radioheard were to play one night at APW, I don’t think it would be a one-off show. It would one of a limted number of shows in the US, like Ed O’Brien hinted at.
Mr. Clonts
MMJ and Widespread Panic have played bonnaroo numerous back to back years.
Chemical brothers have done it at coachella a few times too.
that being said. I highly doubt Radiohead would do a one off at APW again.
It’s not Dave because he is already playing in Syracuse a few days later. Get it right!
^ They played TWICE last year, why would they be booked again? It’s Dave Matthews..read it and weep
You’re probably right but, just to play Devil’s advocate, if Radiohead is planning on playing a show or two in the NYC area, where would it be? It’d have to be some place big enough to meet the demand. Do you really think they’d do the Theater at MSG again? PNC or Jones Beach? APW gives Radiohead a festival setting to play at in a market where there isn’t a great venue for them. How else can they play to 30,000 in NYC?
EVER
There is no way Radiohead are playing again when they just played last year. NO BAND has ever played a festival two years in a row. NEVER.
coldplay and tool would be whack
Dave Matthews is already playing the NYC area twice in April and has shows booked in Indiana on 7/31 and 8/1 (although the next date on 8/4 is in Syracuse, NY). I think Coldplay and Tool are locks but I’m not sure what to expect for the third spot. I keep going back to Ed O’Brien hinting at limited Radiohead summer shows but that’s probably wishful thinking.
I hate going to shows and having to watch bros grind up on their bro-hoes with their one little bro dance move that they all do…
Coldplay is for sorority girls, aka bro hoes.
Coldplay counts as a “bro” headliner..they eat that shit up.
I would sell a kidney to see Bjork in that setting..
both are crap what about Bjork that would be epic
I hear the most likely headliner candidates for the “bro day” are The Killers or Dave Matthews Band.
funny. It could be since they thought the 3rd headliner would be a more “mainstream” headliner. If I had the money I would honestly go back to this festival. I had such a blast last year and the view was so beautiful. I don’t drink so I din’t care for the 5 beer limit.
its probably the killers as they are playing all the festivals
Mr. Clonts,
someone in the “know” confirmed Coldplay and Tool but was unsure about the 3rd headliner.
possible bands: vines, jesus lizard, FNM, relentless 7, whigs
how do you know tool is confirmed and who else is confirmed
Tool is confirmed.
:-/
anyway…hope the Tool rumors are true.
^ lol
I’m doing ok Jake, go to hell.
they better have a dance stage/tent this year.
Stephen Clonts!..from Westover Hills High? How the hell are you man? small world isn’t it?!!??!1
I can’t believe how retarted I am to care about this so much.
I still cannot believe that this festival is gonna make it to year number two.
