All Points West returns with ‘09 lineup
Call it what you want, but the All Points West Music Festival is here to stay, at least for one more year. After bursting on to the scene with a lineup featuring two nights of Radiohead, Jack Johnson, Trey Anastasio, and over 40 other acts, the three-day music festival will return to Jersey City’s Liberty State Park later this year for its second go around. And upon first look at its recently unveiled 2009 lineup, some could certainly argue APW has avoided the dreaded sophomore slump.
Tool, Coldplay, Beastie Boys, and My Bloody Valentine headline the list of acts scheduled to descend on Liberty State Park from July 31-August 2, while Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arctic Monkeys, Echo & The Bunnymen, the recently reunited Organized Konfusion, and Vampire Weekend make up some of the other highlights.

Tickets for All Points West ‘09 will go on sale beginning Friday, April 3rd (12:00 p.m. EST) via Ticketmaster.com. Single day passes and layaway payment options will also be offered. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit “Friends of Liberty State Park.” The Friends of Liberty State Park is an open space advocacy volunteer organization dedicated to the park’s future as a free, green and non-commercial, urban waterfront oasis.

So are the Monkeys doing a NA tour or what?
The beer gardens will be more plentiful, have views of the stage, serve food and generally be a whole helluva lot better than last year. GV learn their lessons and fix ‘em.

Wow! I think they’re going to have to add some acts, but that’s a killer start. Even if you just look at the hip hop - you have a nice mix of everything: Q-Tip, the Pharcyde, the Cool Kids, the Knux, Kool Keith and…ORGANIZED KONFUSION!!! Hell, I’ll go just to see a little “Fudge Pudge”.

first thing if there is beer gardens again i am so not there such a hastle i don’t need in my life. second damn right, Where is the dance tent !!!!!!! i can say this i love tool and i love beastie boys and i’m dying to see MGMT but i won’t hastle myself, i hgeard last year was a mess. much love to anybody who goes i hope they do it better than last year

Nice lineup! I’m not crazy about any of the headliners, but the mid-card acts are impressive. I almost want to go to Saturday just to see Arctic Monkeys and MBV.
What’s not to like about Sunday? Coldplay is eh, but the rest of the bill is stacked. Black Keys, MGMT, Silversun Pickups, Gaslight Anthem, and Lykke Li are sure to put on great performances. Echo & The Bunnymen can be flaky, but it’s still great nostalgia. Ghostland Observatory got a lot of praise at Bonnaroo last year. And Michael Showalter is performing!
This is a strong lineup. They spread things out a bit more than last year, which is bad for me since I will probly only go on Saturday.
If I lived on the east coast, I would definitely be there. I’ve got my fingers crossed for Lolla to pick up a few of these acts.
I think all 3 are great but add a couple of high profile dj’s
I actually don’t like Sunday, but that’s just me.
Saturday and Sunday is a lock for me.
