According to the Associated Press, Prince will unveil the set on March 29th for the low price of $11.98. Only, you’ll have to head over to either Target or the musician’s official website to pick up your copy. That’s right, Prince has joined the likes of AC/DC and The Eagles as heavy-weight acts to sell their music exclusivly through a retail outfit – the two latter examples used Walmart.
Per Mark Schindele, Target’s senior vice president of merchandising:
“Prince has long been renowned as one of the world’s most original and iconic musical artists…We are thrilled to have the opportunity to share his most recent work with our Target guests.”
As an added bonus, according to Spinner.com, the release will be supported by the launch of a brand new Prince site, lotusflow3r.com, which will feature audio clips of the three new albums, video, as well as an archive of countless live recordings from over the years; all for an annual fee of $77.00.
