Regina details Far
With the release of Far nearing, Regina Spektor has taken some time to detail her much-anticipated followup to 2006’s Begin to Hope. As we first reported back in March, the New York native teamed up with a rather eclectic group of producers for her fifth studio album, including Begin to Hope’s David Kahne, Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Maroon 5), Garret “Jacknife” Lee (U2, R.E.M.), and ELO frontman Jeff Lynn. The end result is a 13-track effort described as “accessible,” and full of “gripping lyrics,” “intoxicating beats,” and “multilayered vocal work.”
In other words, Far is exactly what everyone probably expected to be. So, basically, everything written above was a huge waste of time. What wouldn’t be a huge waste of time however, is to tell you that Far is officially set for release on June 23rd Sire Records, and that to support the release, Spektor will launch a world tour beginning in June - dates yet-to-be-announced.
Now, time to go back, sit on our hands, and wait impatiently…
