Coachella for the lazy returns

Coachella for the lazy returns

Update: See schedule below…

During South by Southwest last month, rumors were afloat that AT&T had put the kibosh on its festival-friendly Blueroom. It turns out those rumors are true; head on over to www.attblueroom.com and you’ll be presented with the following two choices: AT&T Music and AT&T Fan Zone.

But fortunately, the end of the AT&T Blueroom does not mean the end of AT&T’s live streaming footage of all our favorite U.S. summer music festivals. The aforementioned AT&T Music will serve as the home of AT&T’s festival streams this year, as well as an archive for all streamed footage in the days following the respective festivals.  And if you factor in the plans for this weekend’s coverage of Coachella, the content will be a changing at well, in this case, for the better.

According to a press release issued by AT&T, this year’s live webcast will include the scheduled performances of Paul McCartney, The Killers, The Cure, Morrissey, Franz Ferdinand, M.I.A, and others - a complete schedule is forthcoming (see below). Based on last year’s webcast options, which was highlighted by The Raconteurs and Portishead, well, at least from the headliner’s perspective, 2009 looks be much more worthwhile…

…for the lazy, poor, and everyone else who won’t be in Indio this weekend. So sit back, stock up on the Cheetos, fire up the computers, and enjoy your weekend!
