Green Day pins down tour dates…
Alas, the dates for Green Day’s upcoming, skyline-backed, surprise-filled North American tour in which the legendary California rockers will support the throwback, but albeit redundant “Know Your Enemy” and the 17 other tracks that make up the three acts telling the story of a “young couple, Christian and Gloria, through the mess and promise of the century so far” on its eighth studio album, 21st Century Breakdown, which is due out Friday, yes Friday, May 15th via Reprise, are finally here.
Boy, that was a mouthful, but I think we covered everything as it pertains to Green Day’s upcoming North American tour. Well, everything expect the venues the band will be playing - those are yet-to-be announced, but according to Rolling Stone, Billy Joe and Co. are looking “to book indoor arenas rather than amphitheatres” So, plan accordingly.
What we do know for sure is that beginning July 3rd, Green Day will launch the first leg of its tour in support of the forthcoming 21st Century Breakdown. As of now, the trek runs through late August, and nearly every market, including Fargo, North Dakota, will get a taste of the fun.
