Open Thread: Lollapalooza 2009
And after months of waiting, the time has finally come. Yes ladies and gentlemen, the lineup announcement for Lollapalooza 2009 is here, well, almost. On Tuesday, April 21st, Perry Farrell and Co. are officially scheduled to unveil the bill for the Chicago based festival, which is again scheduled to go down in Grant Park from August 7-9. But considering the amount of leaks so far, another one could come any second, so we figured now would be a good time to open it up to the reader. Feel free to use this post to share your hopes, dreams, predictions, and any news you’ve found.

Simian Mobile Disco will be a great addition, they played an amazing show at the Metro this past Friday
… I never said anything about St. Vincent, I only said that Tokyo Police Club will definately not be there.
Not sure when St. Vincent was mentioned as a possibility, Adam, but in the Spin issue that leaked Ben Harper, Metric, SSPU, etc, they were covered and there was no mention of Lolla for them. Just wanted to make sure you weren’t thinking of that as a rumor.
Derek Berry appears to be the manager of the band “He Say, She Say’. My Dick is by Micky Avalon. Never confuse the two again.

According to the picture on He Say She Say’s myspace the lineup announcement is taking place tomorrow night at a party hosted by Hollywood Holt. A few lolla acts will be performing at the event including He Say, She Say and Hey Champ.
I’m also thinking you can probably confirm Hollywood Holt at this point.
I guess I’m stuck going. AC = me showing up. Especially if whoever said Akron/Family & St. Vincent is right.
Good to hear about Animal Collective. I really want to see them but I am kinda iffy if they are playing during the daytime.

I’m not counting on a whole lot more must-see acts beyond those listed above (like Franz, Folds, Fleet, Decemberists, SSPU, Tool, Beasties, Janes, and YYYs) but just to be really greedy, I’m (realistically) hoping for Ted Leo, Beirut, Dead Weather, Hold Steady and Dinosaur Jr. And I’m super-bummed that Phoenix is playing Summer Sonic weekend.
