Bob Dylan takes us out to the ballgame
Bob Dylan is as much a staple of America as baseball. So it only makes sense that once again, the legendary singer/songwriter will be spending much of his summer playing at baseball parks across the country. Beginning early July, Dylan, along with special guests John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson, will kick off what is currently a six-week tour which will see the trio performing at many of this country’s minor league ballparks, Rothbury excluded.
All concert tickets are priced at $67.50 and will be available beginning May 2nd. Showtime for all dates will 5:30pm, with gates opening at 5:00. Unfortunately, there is no baseball game on the day of the show.
In other Dylan news, the 67-year-old recently unveiled the video for “Beyond Here Lies Nothin’”, the first single from Bob Dylan’s forthcoming release Together Through Life, which hits record shelves next Tuesday, April 28th. Check it out at Amazon.com.

Watching a concert on a baseball diamond is a pretty cool experience. I caught Bob in Washington and Altoona, PA, over the years in minor league parks. In most cases, the stage is located in the outfield, and you’re able to walk right out onto the diamond and get as close as you like. It’s a fun way to spend a summer night, and the parks are usually pretty beautiful.
I’ll be sure to make it out to Falconi Field in July to catch him again. John and Willie make for a pretty packed opening lineup, as well.

Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson are possibly the two greatest american song writers of all time.
