Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, Beastie Boys head Austin City Limits ‘09
We have reached the last of the four. For the ninth consecutive year, Austin City Limits will cap off what Coachella, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza started, serving as the final featured event of the 2009 festival season. I was thinking the same about The Dead Weather, buzzword. Hoping for them as a Lolla add.
I was hoping for huey lewis and the news
yes phoenix is playing. thats all i wanted.
I was hoping my festival whores( yeah yeah yeahs) would be playing
Something for everyone. good job I think
i am impressed… pearl jam, arctic monkeys, devotchka, knaan, blitzen trapper, flogging molly, dead weather, glo…
lots to like on this lineup…
its a bit of a trek down to austin from st. louis, but i might have to find a way..
How does ACL rate The Dead Weather, and Lollapalooza doesnt? Sounds like something fishy to me….
For those of you who dont follow ACL closely, here are a couple things…
1. People have been waiting for DMB to play ACL, he is huge to most of the regular festival goers.
2. This lineup is probably the best ACL lineup ever, edging out 2005.
I went to ACL last year and had a great time. Me and the GF purchased our tickets before the lineup and made a trip of it no matter who played. When the lineup we were initially disappointed, but as months passed leading up to the lineup we discovered bands we wanted to check out.I thought the headliners were lacking last year, but there were some diamonds in the rough that made the experience a good one.
With that being said this lineup…this years line-up is pretty good and better than last years. Yes, the headliners are not original, but the overall lineup is solid and is the most ecliptic cast next to Bonnaroo’s.
The lineup is by no means bad, it just doesn’t help that a.) Dave Matthews Band is headlining and b.) there are more than a few acts on this bill that are already playing more than one other U.S. festival.
Still you got to credit them for Lily Allen, Mos Def, and Sonic Youth.
Oh, and why are the Arctic Monkeys billed so low?
humm…head scratch. better on the top end. mid and lower tier don’t get me all that excited.
mid tier is just eh…..
Last year’s mid tier was better…. with a new album, was really hoping for some Wilco…. that would have sealed my fate for sure
Definitely a single day pass year for me.
lily allen… girl talk… FUCK YES!!!
You’re kidding me, right? This line up has so many bands. How can you NOT find something?
kind of weak
