NIN & Jane’s launch tour, Perry tears calf!

NIN & Jane’s launch tour, Perry tears calf!

Well, if show #3 is any indication of what is to come during Nine Inch Nail and Jane’s Addiction’s co-headlining North American tour, it will be quite eventful, and painful. Per Billboard.com:

Jane’s Addiction lead singer Perry Farrell is recovering from a torn calf muscle he suffered on stage at a concert in Atlanta…

The creator of the Lollapalooza music festival hurt himself during the first song Sunday night at Lakewood Amphitheatre but was able to finish the show.

According to a statement from the band’s publicist, he was taken by ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center after the show.

Doctors have reportedly advised Farrell to stay off his leg for several days, but Perry being the Perry Farrell he is, will apparently fight through the pain and has no plans to cancel any of the band’s upcoming dates.

Fortunately, Trent Reznor escaped injury during NIN’s set, enabling the band to shell out such quality moments as the one seen below.

  1. What are you talking about? Morello’s band started slightly after 7, they played their gig, then there was at least half hour (probably more) of setting things up for NIN - I didn’t look at the clock, but no way NIN started even close to 7:45.

  2. Both my grown kids where at this NIN/JA concert ( I saw nin in 96 w/Bowie) and they said the same thing. They had prepaid tickets and still had to wait in line.. so get there early! Also my daughter said she said the reason Farrell got hurt was he climbed onto the top of a very large amp or speaker to sing, and fell off.

  3. we all know it’s a ‘co-headling” tour but i still think that NIN should close the show.

  4. Hope Perry gets better soon.

Pretty lights or not, NIN still fucking BRINGS it live.

  5. Jane’s is not “headlining”. They are co-headliners, each doing the same length set. They are not trading time spots as so many people erroneously seem to think as well.

Also, get there early. There was a fiasco with the tickets at the Atlanta show and Nine Inch Nails have been promptly coming on stage at 7:45, despite the times posted by Trent Reznor on the Nin.com website.

I was at the first two shows in West Palm Beach and Tampa. Just incredible. Anyone who is not a casual fan of Nine Inch Nails won’t be disappointed.

  6. so far, the nine inch nail set lists have been stellar. nin really should be headlining this tour, not jane’s addiction (no disrespect, i love JA).

22 more days until the toronto show, i CANNOT wait!
