David Byrne does more touring, celebrates this touring with new EP
David Byrne turns 57-years-old tomorrow.
But if you think that means he’s slowing down, think again. In fact, if anything, the former Talking Heads frontman is perhaps busiest as he’s ever been. Hot on the heels of everything else he’s done over the last year (if you need a reminder, click here), Byrne has added to his upcoming endeavors with a new batch of North American tour dates. Now, come June 1st, the English native will take to the states for a month worth of festival appearances (w/ personally curated stages) and amphitheatres performances, all in support of last year’s Everything That Happens Will Happen Today.
Speaking of releases, Byrne also recently shelled out another to his discography. Aptly titled Everything that Happens Will Happen on this Tour David Byrne on Tour: Songs of David Byrne and Brian Eno and available know as a digital download via everythingthathappens.com, the four-track EP consists of tour highlights from the last year. And the best part, aside from the fact that Byrne has already seemingly locked up honors for 2009’s “Longest Title for an EP”? Net profits go to Amnesty International.
As if all this wasn’t enough, Byrne is also scheduled to publish a book entitled The Bicycle Diaries this September.
It’s basically like everything one could hope for! Well, aside from a Talking Heads reunion, but we’re ok waiting for that!
