Pitchfork Music Festival fills out ‘09 lineup
It’s Friday! You know what that means: the Pitchfork Music Festival has returned with a new round of additions to its ‘09 bill to either kick off your weekend on a good note, or have your bitchin’. In what will be the final lineup additions for this year’s festival, Pitchfork has added Final Fantasy, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Bowerbirds, and Michael Columbia to Saturday and The Thermals and Killer Whales to Sunday.
As it stands, P4k Festival ‘09 looks like this:
Friday, July 17th: “Write the Night: Set Lists by Request”

Saturday, July 18th:
Beirut, Bowerbirds, Charles Hamilton, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Disappears, DOOM, The Dutchess and the Duke, Final Fantasy, Fucked Up, Lindstrøm, Matt & Kim, Michael Columbia, The National, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Plants and Animals, Ponytail, Wavves, Yeasayer
Sunday, July 19th:

The schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
As for as admittance goes, three-day passes are now sold, so if you want it, you’ll either have to pick up two-day or single day passes via the festival’s official website.
I will say this, though– in the past they preceded the current lineup with something that indicated more were coming. They didn’t do that this time. You’re probably right, I’m just wondering if there was more to that statement…
Well, the press release I got said: “Pitchfork Music Festival Rounds Out 2009 Lineup.” I took that as the final additions. Could be wrong.
BTW, what indication do you have that these are the final additions? The article I read says that they have some more additions today and then give a “list of bands set for the fest”. Seems like they’re leaving it open for more. They’re still 1 act short of the 19 they had on Saturday and Sunday last year.
