Radiohead unexpectedly causes world holiday with return to the studio

The inevitable has finally occurred. According to the BBC and NME, Radiohead returned to the studio last week to begin work on the Nigel Godrich-produced, maybe pay-what-you-want-or-maybe-not-but-whatever-the-case-may-be-the-band-has-a-lot-of-ideas-planned followup to 2007’s In Rainbows. ETA? Dec. 21, 2012.

  1. 2012 is just too long. Thats radiohead though, and to this “Dan” fellow, get the shit outta your ears and listen!

  2. In Rainbows is compressed to hell. Not only the masters, but every sound on the album. There is no dynamic range whatsoever. Also, every sound on the album sounds too digital and clean and lifeless. It lacks soul. Its the coldest sounding record I have ever heard, and there are lots of professional engineers that agree. And for the record, the music on In Rainbows is also really bad.

  3. Dan?!? What the fuck man? Butchers?!?! are you kidding me?!?! i know your kidding me, you have to be! Nigel Godrich…. butchering In Rainbows? Are you sure we are talking about the same band, same producer, and same album. Let me just ask specifically. Are you saying, that Radiohead’s latest album, In Rainbows, was butchered in the studio by Nigel Godrich? If your answer is yes, then we need to talk, and i want you to explain, IN DETAIL, how and why you would say such a thing, because if someone said that they didn’t like the music on the album, i just might let that slide…. but when someone explains that the production and engineering was the problem, i need details, so you better know what your talking about… or i’ll see you in hell.

  4. You’re going to want to explain that one dan. In Rainbows was a fantastically produced album IMO.

  5. I hope Godrich decides to be good at engineering again on this one. I don’t think I could handle it if the guy who used to be my favorite engineer completely butchers another Radiohead album.

  6. Oh I see what you did there with that date lol.
