Who’s playing Frank?
Reissues aren’t the only thing putting Frank Sinatra’s name in the headlines these days. According to slashfilm.com, legendary director Martin Scorsese has agreed to direct the long-rumored bioepic based on the life of the Sinatra. Phil Alden Robinson, best known for his work on Sneakers and Field of Dreams will be writing the screenplay, while Frank’s youngest daughter Tina Sinatra will bring the rights to her father’s music, and serve as the film’s executive producer. Universal Pictures and Mandalay Pictures will be handling the release.
Now, that we got all that hashed out, the next step is determining who will be playing Frank. Among the possible candidates, according to the Daily Express? Harry Connick Jr., George Clooney, Justin Timberlake, Leonardo DiCaprio, and…Jamie Foxx. Says the paper’s “well placed source”:
“Cool is colour-blind. Jamie would seem to be born to the role.
Magnificent singing voice, totally convincing acting ability, like Frank himself, born the wrong side of the tracks, rags to riches, makes it big against the odds, has his brushes with authority. The guy’s a gift.”
The film is expected to be released in 2011.
i say the best out of the names mentioned would be DiCaprio, he’s just simply the best. Clooney would probably resemble him the most i guess.. but i dont like him playing Sinatra.. the swagger would be through the roof.
