Watch: Blink-182 continues reliving the past on Leno
Monday night was “The Rock Show”. Last night was “All the Small Things”. Two nights, two songs, one giant eh of a response, and we’re not just talking about the fact we had to sit through Jay Leno for a hour.
Maybe it’s the sound (hardly), but the whole thing seems rather forced. Mark Hoppus will be forty in three years and Tom DeLonge is at the saintly age of 33. The two are too old for this stuff, and while that argument could be used against a handful of acts, Green Day included, a large part of it has to do with the context within Blink’s songs. The truth is, they were almost too old then (ten years ago) to be singing these songs, and now it’s just, well, kind of creepy. Also, and this is a big “also,” there’s absolutely no sense of chemistry on-stage, at least from these two performances.
Good thing we have Mr. Rivers “Top 40″ Cuomo to look forward to…

blink182 are dogshit
Wow, I guess I spoke too soon when I said “At least they didn’t perform ‘All the Small Things’” in the first Leno post… lol
spoken like a true douche- finacial sucess, so I guess all those great indy bands that never made it big are not as good as Creed because of finacial success, in fact your telling me Creed is better than the Yo La Tengo, Dineasaur Jr or even the Ramones because they had more “Comercial Success” and yes A $ A is “crying about my ex Emo” by an almost 40 something year old man who has a silver spoon jammed so far up his ass any time he wants to see it he has to have you dig it out when your blowing over Angels and Airwaves commercial success. But i appreciate your opinion as well
Plus 44 is light years better than Angels and Airwaves’ crybaby crap>>>
Your personal opinion, of course. But you don’t see +44 opening for acts like Weezer or selling over a million records, too. To me, I always felt A&A was light years ahead of +44, which sounded like Blink-182 without the hooks.
But that’s just me. However, by looking at both respected bands’ financial successes, +44 loses pal.
Hoppus needs this more than Delonge? Plus 44 is light years better than Angels and Airwaves’ crybaby crap, but i think all this negativety is a little too much too soon, the tour looks great with some great bands and lets just take this for what it is, remeniscent and fun!!!, I mean are we really going to disect the mindset and semantics of pop punk and Blink 182, they make jokes and songs about jerking off?
Both of these songs sound like sh*t! Not sure why they even decided to come back.I mean c’mon, At least make up new songs. BIG mistake on their part.
Is it just me or does Tom sound like the lead singer from the Shout Out Louds?
DeLonge just looks pissed/bored, though Hoppus at least looks like he’s having a good time.>>
Probably because Hoppus needs this more than DeLonge.
you’re right, there just doesn’t seem like there’s any chemistry there. i noticed that with the monday performance too. also, DeLonge just looks pissed/bored, though Hoppus at least looks like he’s having a good time.
i wouldn’t be surprised if they do the tour and be done with each other for a long time.
