Queen eyes an American Idol

Queen eyes an American Idol

Thank you, Queen. I seriously thought we had successfully avoided having to mention the name Adam Lambert on this site. But thanks to the band, the American Idol runner-up not only gets a mention, he may be appearing quite often in the coming months.

You see, with Paul Rodgers now out of the picture, Queen is looking for a new frontman. Among the candidates? Adam Lambert of course.

Speaking with Rolling Stone last week, guitarist Brian May did anything but quash the rumors. “Amongst all that furor, there wasn’t really a quiet moment to talk,” May noted in an e-mail interview. “But [drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point. It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.”

In other words, Queen + Adam Lambert = coming soon to a town near you.

  1. If there’s anything this world needs less of, its Adam Lambert.

  2. Boo-urns.

  3. [...] up and realize we all have our own power. Then, maybe you too can be owned by 19 Recordings/RCA and field offers from Queen. Share this story!: These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and [...]
